GLASS CEILING (Davisson-J 2016)

GLASS CEILING is an elegant patterned 9" lavender bitone spatulate with a large orchid watermark framed by a narrow pencil band. The wide throat is a diamond dusted yellow over green. GLASS CEILING has a flat open form on cool days and the lighter lavender sepals twist and curl on hot, humid days. Blooms are perfectly presented facing upward on tall, sturdy 43" scapes with 4-way branching that carry 23 buds. Clean, clear colors are very showy. A lightly fragrant semi-evergreen that starts blooming midseason. Fertile both ways but podding is not easy on hot days. From Seedling 2726 (SWALLOWTAIL KITE X LIGHTHOUSE NORTH) x CAROLINA COOL DOWN crossed with Seedling 2822 (HIGH WATER MARK X CAROLINA COOL DOWN) and inheriting its complexity and sophistication from all parents. Tetraploid.
